The truck rolled back smashing into Mrs. Campbell who was standing on the pavement in front of Ciao Café which is located at the bottom of Burnett Street. 18 year old Shandell Campbell was pregnant at the time. Mrs. Campbell and her unborn baby succumbed to their injuries during an emergency surgery at the Scarborough General Hospital. According to Ms. Allison George aunt of Shandell Mrs. Campbell who was 7 months pregnant and her husband who witnessed her death, left their home sometime earlier for a little stroll in Scarborough, when she met her death. They were on their way home when they stopped by Ciao Café and met her death. Mrs. George said Shandell was the mother of a 1 year old daughter.The family is very much aggrieved and is angry that because of reckless driving their loved one lost her life.
