Tobago water supply is good for harsh dry season

Assistant Secretary in the Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Gary MelvilleThe Water and Sewage Authority has applied restrictions on the nation’s water supply. However, Assistant Secretary in the Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Gary Melville wanted to assure Tobagonians that according to information received from WASA, Tobago’s situation is quite manageable thus far.

He explained that of the 11 million gallons of water produced per day, 60 percent is surface water and 40 percent comes from ground water resources. He explained that from 2001 to present, the amount of ground water has significantly increased. Mr. Melville noted that the dry season does not significantly affect the product of ground water sources. He also took the opportunity to reveal some new initiatives to improve water supply.
