http://www.tobagochannel5.com/images/news/videothumbs/news_020610_s1.jpg NAR Chairman Christo Gift says that the Tobago House of Assembly’s Community Micro Project program was a clear way of getting significant sums of money into the hands of supporters of the ruling party.
He is also charging that the report that was laid in the house is not the true report and he urged members of the public to ensure that the real report is made available as soon as possible. Mr. Gift said that after careful analysis of the Report, he is of the view that it is not the original report. He further says that several things have not been made clear in the document one of which is how contractors were indentified.
He pointed out that there were over 300 projects which were awarded to only 97 contractors. Mr. Gift pointed out that none of the projects are self sustaining. He also questioned the need for them since he noted that there are other divisions already established to carry out these functions. Mr. Gift stressed that Tobagonians must stand up to ensure that something like this never happens again.
