http://www.tobagochannel5.com/images/news/videothumbs/news_021910_s1.jpgThe 2nd annual Tobago Carnival Regatta kicked off at the Pigeon Point beach on Friday with numerous events taking place. The regatta which is said to be one with a difference attracted sailors from throughout the world.
This event has been described as a rebranding and expansion of what was traditionally known as the Angostura Sailing week. Nikki Borde, the main organizer of the event in the midst of the activities explained why this regatta was so unique and said entrants from many countries journeyed to Tobago for the event.
She also stressed that the competition is not for professionals only, but they are aiming at a wider cross section of participants. She noted that 1 Tobagonian entered the completion. Ms. Borde stated that the competition has a long way to go and can see it being one of the Caribbean’s prime regattas.
